We could actually stop right after the quote and be finished.
Complete.
Kaput.
Done.
You get the picture. Melisssa Bradley said a mouthful.
When are we ever going to STOP letting the opinions of others control our lives?
Many of you feel the same way. But today I want to take a little different approach.
I want to go to the Word.
To be insecure is to lack confidence or trust, in ourselves, in someone else and especially in God. If we believe in Him we are “secure” in Him! “And those who know Your name put their trust in You, for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” Psalm 9:10.
So if we are believers, and if we profess to love Him, walk with Him daily, then why do some of us struggle with insecurities?
DOUBT.
Satan loves to use this tool to make us feel inferior and cause us to question our salvation, our worth, our abilities; he will even make us question our looks! That is huge to us on a daily basis! “What about the meaning of our life? Why are we here? Our life cannot be worth anything, God doesn’t need ME, I don’t contribute much, I am surely just in the way.” All of these feelings add to our level of insecurity and continue that downward spiral. “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience.” Ephesians 2:1-2.
“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.” Romans 12:3.
And don’t let Jealousy fool you, it is just another name for insecurity.
It rears its ugly head time and time again. Do not let it take control in your life, but take control over it before it has a chance to do any damage! “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8. So who do you belong to?
Who secures your heart?
Are you trusting in the One that controls the Universe? If you are, then you have no room for the insecurities that the deceiver tries to bring into your life!
You are totally Pre-APPROVED in Jesus Christ!
You are an HEIR with Christ!
“And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory…” Romans 8:17 NLT.
You are a holy nation!
“But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9 NLT.
You are sons and daughters of God!
“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” Romans 8:14.
You are set apart!
“Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 6:17 NLT.
Hope and Healing…in Jesus Christ. Give Him your insecurities. Let Him secure your heart every day in Him. Then that peace that passes all understanding will fill your heart and mind, there will be no room for any doubt.
Insecurities? Not me!

Deep truth here. Insecurity has haunted me from my earliest days. Trying to take on board and pay more attention to what God says instead of listening to the enemy
It won’t be easy but it’s vital for soul peace. Thank you. 🙂
thank you for sharing God’s truth
So true Nikki…we all have some form of insecurity…the enemy makes sure of that! Let’s turn it back on him, shall we? 🙂
Me too Cindy! I often write because it is something I need to hear too! 🙂
Thank you, I needed this right now. God bless you!
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t struggle with insecurity in some form. This is great insight!
