So excited to be a part of this link up today!! I was already on my way to Cincinnati for my niece’s wedding when I saw the post and am not prepared to participate in a video link…which is probably just as well, lol!!
First off I should say this is Nannette, a.k.a. Candace Jo, you can read how that came about here. I opened my WordPress account before I ever had my blog and chose Candace Jo because of the story and it stuck!
What has She Reads Truth done for me?! I joined the end of last year and it has been such a blessing in my life. I have been in “The Church” all of my life. We have been youth pastors, then we pastored two different churches for several years and then we were missionaries to the Baltics in Eastern Europe.
But the community of SRT has been just like going to church at times. You laugh together, cry together, bear one another’s burdens. Share your heartaches, your fears, and your needs. If you are hurting you can bring it here. Someone will care. If you know of someone else that is in trouble, you can let your friends at SRT know and they will pray! If you feel like you just cannot go on…tell your sisters here. They will carry you to the throne. You don’t have to be alone!
I have seen this community rally around many sisters over the last several months, no matter what the sin, no matter what the trouble. It did not matter. And that has impressed me. That is the way it should be. “Judge not that ye be not judged.” Matthew 7:1 So many people have no where else to go! And when you open up a place of safety such as this it means the world to others.
Thank you to all of the beautiful ladies that one day got together and decided to sacrifice, and it IS a sacrifice, so that we all might benefit from something so wonderful as SRT. I look forward to getting up every morning, grabbing my mocha, my iPad, and my SRT journal, which is way cool btw. The lesson is so encouraging, and so enlightening, takes me places I might not otherwise go! The comments are great! You just never know what the other ladies are going to uncover in their wisdom of the scriptures! It is a good start to my day and I am thankful for it.
But it wasn’t just so we could all be blessed every day! It is so we could reach into our communities and bless others! And that is what we are trying to do! Our church is seeing such great results with Revival By Design! This is not a program, but it teaches the Church to not sit on the pew but to get out into the community and BE THE CHURCH! We are baptizing people weekly and then discipling them right back into the body, to learn and grow and win others to Christ.
Safety, refuge. Comfort, hope. Peace, rest. Friends.

I love learning about the names of Christ. I am most grateful for Emmanuel: God with us. It is a comfort to know He will never leave nor forsake those who trust in Him.

Amanda, as a Pastor’s wife I always had the title of mother hen, now I have the body to go along with it! 🙂 We had to come home from overseas last year from our missions assignment in the Baltics because of my health, I am awaiting two surgeries. I never intended to get involved in an online community and even when I joined I wasn’t going to comment but I just finally said “why not me?” Prayed and asked God if He had something for me to say I would and if not then please put tape over my mouth! But you all are such a blessing and reading these posts and blogs today are just blowing me away!!! What an impact SRT is making in the Kingdom.. For such a time as this. I pray for all of you girls every day. Thanks for taking the time to write me today, that was so kind and meant so much to me. Blessings!!
