Peaks and valleys and in-betweens…we experience all three. We prefer the peaks, we mumble and mourn through the valleys but it’s the in-betweens that we struggle with the most.
But even they have a purpose. In the middle is where we can pause and take deep breaths and listen to the voice of God. What is my next move? Where is He directing? Leading? Where is He calling me to go?
Esther was called to the King’s palace and an entire year was spent in preparation for her to be presented to the King. She was in her in-between, thinking she had lost everything, family, friends, all that was dear to her. But in reality she was being prepared “for such a time as this” to save the Jewish people from destruction.
An in-between can be a time of rest, relaxation, renewal and restoration. God knew we needed those too and instituted them right away in the Old Testament with the Sabbath. He knows we need them now and gives us our in-betweens. We must take them, pause and reflect on where we have been. Let Him refresh and rejuvenate us, maybe even redirect!
So do not ignore your middles! They are for your benefit as well as the mountain-tops and valleys. He is there in every facet of our life and even when it seems like your “season” is a wasted one or a quiet one, take note, this is your in-between.
It is okay.
He is using this time to prepare you for the King…
Dearest friend, thank you for pointing me to this beautiful writing…what and such truth…..Thank you…
Blessings right back to you …hugs…xxxx

Hi Ceil! Receiving grace is beautiful too, it all fits with a theme of restoration 🙂 Love it! thank you so much for visiting my blog. Heading over to check out your little corner of the world now. Blessings to you!
I like the idea of middles being a time of rest. We could all use that! I agree with the concept of it being a preparation time too. I said it was a time to receive grace. Kind of the same idea!
Thank you for stopping by Hope in the Healing Bekka! I am glad you found hope in this post…I think many of us find ourselves living in the In-Betweens…I really believe we need to rest, relax and let God restore us. Hello precious friend…you live there too? Oh yes you do! But no you are not a slow learner or a poor-hearer…God is teaching us because He wants to USE us…and use us He does! In ways you may not see now but you are a blessing to many, especially to me. If you get to the mountain-top before me, save me a seat! ♥

Deirdra! Hello dear friend! So good to hear from you…I am wishing this had been a Ten Minute Friday! I had more to say, ha, but God knows I would have messed it up in ten minutes 🙂 I am like you, I feel like I am living in the in-between but there is so much to learn here…praying I don’t miss anything. Oh my, my, 118 degrees!! Goodness, I will be praying for you! Much love! ♥
Thanks for another great blog. Once again, it spoke to me! I spend a lot of time in the in-betweens. I must be a slow learner, or poor hearer. There are many, many people in this same place, who really want to go back to the mountain-top. In his own time, he will lead us there. Keep believing….

I feel like I’m in the “in between” time….again! You are so right in that we need these time to rejuvenate and “Be still and know that I am God”….one of my favorite verses. I also feel like its a good self-examination time. Unfortunately …well…inevitably…. I am found lacking. Praying that soon God will move me out of the in between.
Thanks for your blogs. I don’t always comment but I do enjoy it!
Have a great weekend!! We are trying to survive the 118 degrees in store for us this whole weekend! Ugh!!
