I have a great Daniel Fast recipe for you today! If you have missed any of our 31 Days of Fasting in January, you can catch up here!
“In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.” Daniel 10:2-3.
In Daniel 10, he was fasting for 21 days and during that time angels were loosed to fight on his behalf. They literally had to fight devils in order to get a word from God to Daniel. His prayer and fasting were shaking things up.
Prayers were answered; chains were broken.
“Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.” Daniel 10:12-13.
From the first day Daniel prayed and started fasting his prayers were heard and the angel was on his way. But his prayers were not answered immediately because the angel had battles to fight and even called for Michael, the archangel, to help him! The angel tells him he was detained for 21 days, the entirety of Daniel’s fast.
Fasting and prayer together literally shake the spirit world and cause angels to be loosed on your behalf. Think about it:
So, what are you fasting, praying and believing God to do for you? Get that Bible out and begin to read scripture OUT LOUD when you pray.
Take authority in the Spirit and watch what will happen while you are fasting. You may face opposition but keep pressing in and pressing on.
The battle is the Lord’s. You are just clay in the Potter’s hands. He will take care of His own!
